Height is pretty much irrelevant for BP's, but it certainly doesn't hurt either.
Diablo has a tree on the cool side of his tank, oddly enough once or twice a day he'll swing from it lol.

Seems to me that drilling a couple holes is far simpler than buying and setting up a dehumidifier...of course, you milage may vary ;)
