To get back on topic a lil bit ;)
We've dealt with hundreds (okay, thousands by now if you count normals) of ball pythons and morphs, and there doesn't seem to be any correlation to color and temperament, any more than there is a correlation between gender and temperament. As was mentioned in an earlier post, there may be some line breeding that is perpetuating a bit of a nastier disposition in some snakes and lines, but not all snakes are going to react the same way as certain lines of them do.
There can also be a bit of the self-fulfilling prophecy in the way people go about handling snakes. If you expect a snake to be mean, and handle it as such, even placid snakes can get fed up with a nervous handler, and will react accordingly. If you handle every snake with confidence, you can pick up amazon tree boas, bloods, retics, or red tailed ratsnakes with the same ease that you can handle the average ball python.
