Fantasy Football?

Why not set the draft for a feasible time that day....noon, afternoon...that most or some people can make. Not everyone will make it...it never works out. But I have always viewed the autodraft as a last resort if you can't make the online draft.

Half the fun is drafting your team....

I'm not trying to be a nazi or anything but it was difficult to just get 12 people to confirm they were even going to accept the invitation and be in the league. This is just for fun among some fellow hobbyists. I realize some people get really into FF and play very seriously but I didn't think that was the sole purpose of this league. Some people are going to take it more seriously than others but my fear is that if we do a real draft and people stacking up their teams, it is going to turn into a league where people don't play. Add that to the fact we're all scattered around the US and I think this would only benefit a few people.

Having said that, I am going to close with the following compromise.

If you can get the majority of the league owners to post (here or on ESPN) that they want to switch a live draft, I will promptly do so. :)

I don't really think one can stack their team if they are present during the draft versus one who is not present. I have done many FF leagues and understand how the autodraft works. You have to really screw up your prerankings to not have any playmakers. Heck....some of my best teams were autodrafted for me.

I guess I just don't understand why you can't change the draft to say....3pm EST. Yes, we are scattered across the states....so that means some people out west have to draft at....11am. That isn't bad.

I know for fact that you spent more time writing that reply than it takes to change the draft time in an ESPN league.

I think it would be appropriate to ask if anyone would OPPOSES the changing of the draft time from 5am....or 1am on the west coast.

And yes...it can be cumbersome getting a league together. People will probably drop midway... But what does that have to do with changing the draft time...? And why punish those of us who DO take it seriously?

This is the 3rd year for this league...and this is the first time we have essentially not had a live draft.

If I can not make the live draft will the computer pick people for me? As long as it will I have no problem with this but I work late nights and I don't want to not get a team.

Yup...you will have a team regardless...

Just prerank your players. There is an option bottom by the draft countdown to prerank them.
