 Aww you're so sweet! I lead a fun life :D I don't have a problem with speed on bikes thank heavens. I think I get my fill on the horses! I got new tires on my bike and I'm not quite confident with the twisties yet because the walls are still pretty stiff. That, and the last time I went riding on twisties the road had buckled right on the turn that I was going 60 on and it felt like I went over a speed bump!
I won't tell anyone how long your husband has been riding! :P

Re: Anyone else ride motorcycles???
This thread keeps feeding my urge to go get my Motorcycle License and start saving towards a bike!!!! My dad has what I think is a Honda VTX1300 based on the pics i've seen of it.
I figure I can get a 2010 Ninja 250 for $4,500 Out the door, and have seen a 2006 for under $2,000. And the top speed doesn't appear to be that high so that makes it even more appealing.

just make sure you keep it on two wheels till youve got some time under your belt. Dont need to loop the bike trying to show off. :gj:

Yep...that is what my hubby says...ride your own ride...meaning don't try to keep up with others. Go at YOUR pace. When you try to keep up with long time experienced riders that is when bad things can happen.
We saw so many accidents when we were at Tail of the Dragon...ppl trying to over do it and show off. That is NOT a road you goof off on. Lots of stories about that road and it has taken down many of experienced drivers...including my brother in law...even has its own tree of shame.

i cant count how many times ive seen friends of mine go down due to trying to show off. If you can barley ride the bike dont be trying to speed around turns or do wheelies cause your gonna end up on your ass sooner or later. Just gotta ride within your limits and you should be fine. Ive been hit by a car on the parkway and i have fallen before. Its always better to get the first fall outta the way so you know what to expect. Also its not if your gonna go down its when your gonna go down.
