    Re: iPhone envy
I bought a 3G iPhone last Monday. I absolutely loved it. Two days later I decided to upgrade to the 3Gs and just picked it up today.

    These phones are AMAZING. Period.

I own Apple and RIMM (Blackberry) stock so I figured I would go into the store with an open mind to the two companies. IMO, the iPhone blew the Blackberries out of the water.

My dad picked up a 3G iPhone as well and he is not the most tech savvy guy. He adores his iPhone and can't even remember how he operated his business without it...

    My old phone just died.

I paid $19.99 + tax for a nokia "pre-pay" phone, for use with t-mobile(i hate locked cell phones, should be illegal) from wal-mart.
I'm not using pre-pay service, it's just the cheapest phone you can buy in the US to use with a t-mobile sim card.

Sure, no web and no camera, but you know what? I've got hundreds of $, not only in the cost of the phone but also in the cost of phone service, in my pocket that I wouldn't have if I had an iPhone.. not to mention iPhone service fees(like $80 a month for everything, right?? ridiculous) and the possibility of limitless numbers of apps to purchase.

I'll put that into a bank account. Or towards snakes. Or fishing. Or maybe a new hobby.. I've always wanted to get into target shooting. Or just blowing up watermelons. 10-gauge shotgun perhaps?

No way I'd trade any of those possibilities for internet on a phone. Thank you, my laptop is all I need.. My digital camera and phone can all be seperate. No jack-of-all-trades technology wanted here.

Reception just is not that good with other companies.

I have a hard time believing that I will every buy anything other then the iPhone.

There will be a new iPhone released each year, but i'm not sure that they can make em much cooler. The great thing is that it's all firmware based to add features to older models later.

AT&T is the best coverage here too. Verizon.. not so much. Plus with AT&T, everyone you call who is also AT&T doesn't cost you minutes. So now I have a really low minute plan(cheap per month) because nearly everyone I ever call is also AT&T anyway! I just got into texting, and am trying to figure out how many texts I'll be sending a month so I can pick the lowest plan that covers my number of texts too.

I'm with you on that one. Not to mention the iPhone probably wouldn't last longer than a month if I took it to work with me. What's the point of having a cell phone if you can't take it with you? :P

Good question! The list of apps I regularly use:

Shazam - Identify songs that you hear on TV or the radio. Gives all kinds of info and links to buy. Ingenious!

    Sirius/XM App

    Facebook

    Twitterfon

Evernote - Allows you to create notes; text, voice, attach pics. Syncs to the web

Pandora - Free music. Love it

Ragdoll Blast - One of my favorite games

Paper Toss - Another fun one
