    ...I would say, if you use plastic instead of ceramic, find plastic bowls whose base is wider than its top; this should keep it pretty stable.

    I use IKEA plastic dog bowls and they are great, because they are cheap and the snakes can and do hide under them because of their construction and I never had an flip over issue yet...
    (Sometimes I think, Ikea is my favourite pet supply, I use their boxes, water bowls, lights...:D)

    I'm moving up from the plastic bowls as well. Too many of my snakes like to tip them, and I like a uniform look so everyone's getting ceramic.
