    It's funny how much trouble some people have with the UTH's. I have one but it's side-mounted, and it barely heats the ambient temp to high 70's. My boyfriend bottom mounted his and a thermometer read almost 110 on the bottom of the tank, so he quit using it (no thermostat for it). *sigh* Good luck

    i think the probe damaged it. Cause it was under the tank on top of the heater (like you all said) and it bent the uth...

    I dunno - they are normally pretty flexible. :confused:

    Was it previously stuck onto the tank or anything?

    yeah so...I got a new one (full refund) It shot up to 95 in 10min!! As of now hot side is 96 cool side is 78? It's a on a thermomstat. I'm trying to get hot side to 93 and cool side to 82
