    Hi,

OK guys we really need to dial back the tone of this thread.

There are ways to express your feelings about this without being anywhere near as harsh.

    Mmmmkay?

Sorry Derek, but this individual has a history of losing his snakes. It wasn't 2 weeks ago the members of this forum were writing letters, making phone calls and doing everything in their power to influence the politicians on Capitol Hill with regard to Bill 669. Now, once again we have a reptile owner, who, due to his lack of preparedness and irresponsibility, has lost a THIRD snake.
Yes, mistakes do happen, but when it's the same person time after time, there comes a time when the sympathy ploy simply doesn't work anymore.
I mean, what's the point in fighting for the right to keep our pets when we have people who continue to display this type of behavior? It totally negates the message we are trying so desperately to send our elected officials, that we are responsible people capable of caring for and nurturing these awesome animals we all love so dearly.
Sorry if I offended anyone with this post, but it needs to be said. Potential reptile owners need to do their homework and research before jumping into this "hobby". There is too much at stake to continually condone this type of irresponsible behavior.

    here's an idea:

Hold a (quick) lottery here on BP.net. $50 per person to enter. Everyone goes out to your place this weekend and whoever finds the spider gets to keep it!

Someone gets a spider for $50, you get a bunch of money, and the snake is safely out of your car!

Plus with all that money you can fix the damage to the car that may or may not happen while finding the snake. :D

Has anyone seen this guys profile pic?

Doesnt seem like the type of image we need on our forum. and this repeated neglect for his animals makes it seem like he just wants something to feed mice to so his friends think he is cool.

Shows are stressful enough on these animals. To not even have a habitat set up for it when you get it home is just down right irresponsible and will only induce more stress on your new pet.
I bought a Pastel from a fellow member here on the boards this week, but I am having him hold off on shipping until next week so I can make sure the snake's living quarters is perfect for him. It's called being a responsible snake owner.
Mistakes and accidents do happen, but for tbis type of accident to be repeated by the same person, it only further reinforces the proof that he should not own snakes, PERIOD. :colbert:

ummmm you act like you where born and knew how to take care of every kind of animal or pet geez give me a break
