Good job Patrick! Starting this week I gave up 99% of my soda take in and 50% of my junk food take in (I love Junk food, I'll have to wean myself off that). Tonight I bought a $30 gallon Brita container to help back that up. For men specifically giving up soft drinks and sugary drinks in general can make a world of difference so I figured why not.

Congrats! I'm trying to get back in shape too, got down to 170 last summer, but it was too small for my sport. Needed to gain some weight, and it got a tiny bit out of control when the season was over and hit 190ish. New team, time to get back in shape! We should start a Get Buff thread for the guys, haha.

Congrats you are doing great!!! Make sure that you are working on changing your life style!! Keep it up!:D
Do it now! If you wait too long it just gets harder. I started trying to lose about a year ago, I have gone from 264 down to 221. My goal is 190. It has been a constant fight. When I was your age I could work out and it would fall off. Now that I'm in my fifties it is more of a struggle. But when I goof up, I pick myself up and start again.

It's pushed out a few kids and been dropped only once!

I'm going to hunt you down and kill you for posting my profile pic in this thread LMAO!

Patrick, that's a great weight loss! Mike and I have been talking about doing something about our own weight. It's so easy once you've had kids, hit your 40's and are married to just sort of let things slide a bit that way but it's important for our kids that Mike and I are around as long as possible and the extra weight won't encourage that. I think we'll just start with biking or walking and I'll start cooking with less fat (gawd Mike will fuss about that, the man loves his gravy! LOL) and just see how it goes. We don't have the kind of lifestyle that allows for gym workouts but heck I think the old fashioned concept of "eat less, move more" is a good one.

Keep up the good work Pat! :)
