08 Female Weights???

polls like these really dont prove much ive seen snakes a year old be around 1300 grams and ive seen them hardly grow at all. the big factors are how much they are fed and how often. also many other factors

I cant really choose any of the poll choices! my early 08 female weighs over 900g

I only have two 08 females (very late 08s) and they both weigh 500+ grams. I have an early 08 male that weighs 700+grams. I've noticed that too on KS. I suppose it's because they either only maintenance feeding or trying to get rid of the picky eaters.

I have 4 08's All are feed every 7 days
Male Pastel is 750g
Female Pastel 800g
Female Spider 800g
Male Black Pastel 550g (hes a little picker of a eatter but has been better lately)

I really there weight take off when I switched them all over to rats instead of mice.

my 08 albino is about 540 grams, and my normal 08 is like 300 grams. the albino is FAT! my normal had a stubborn start T.T... but hasn't shown any signs of slowing down after i gave her a 10x better enclosure =p.

I have 3 '08 female pastels.

As of 06/25, they weighed:
632 grams
643 grams
and 473 grams--but she is a mouser.
I also have a normal female '08 on hold for someone that was 495 grams on that date, and she is also a mouser.
I feed on a 5 day schedule.


For contrast, I have a pastel male '08 who was on a 7 day schedule, and he was STILL 505 grams on 06/25.

All of the above animals hatched around August last year.

I've seen the light '08 balls you're talking about all over too, and I have to wonder if they're really picky eaters, or the people were trying to save bucks by not feeding them. As you can see, almost all of my animals were off your poll's scale except for the two mousers--and there's a good chance that they're all off it by this point.

Even on a 7 day schedule, being fed small items, the animals should be weighing in at 400 to 500 grams at least by now. I've seen a bunch advertised that were only 275 to 300 or so. That just seems so SMALL to me--an indication that something is either not entirely right with the animal, or isn't entirely right with the keeper. (A difficult starter, for example, would lead to a weight like that--so would mousing, and picky eating, or just plain not being fed enough).

I've had a male axanthic from June 08 for less than a month. He weighted 296 when I recieved him. That seem very much under weight for him. He was realy skinny... He was being feed 1 mice, Im not sure why.

The first thing I did was to see if he would eat rats, and he did thankfully. He had never eaten a rat before according to his feed sheet. He has been eating every 4-5 days. He is gaining good weight now. And he already looks alot different than when I recieved him.

My July 08 girl weights in at 655 grams right now. Every 7 day feeding schedule of small rats. I havent got a 100% empty weight on her recently though. 655 was a few weeks ago.

i have one that is 1670 grams empty from august of 08,every 5-7 day feedings.she started breeding october 07, 09. the smallest 08 female i have is a spider that is 900 grams. dave m.
