Well i just got him home. This thing is awesome. The poor snake has stuck shed all over him. I misted the tank down pretty well. Im gonna keep his humidity up for a while and if that doesnt work ill try the wet pillow case trick. Ill post pics soon.

With an animal in this condition I think a tub might be your best bet for a while. I don't have a clue what you're talking about with a pillow case. Get an old cool whip container and put a warm wet cloth at the bottom and put him in then close it up. He'll have plenty of air for a good 20-30 minute bath. 20 qt steralite tub will probably be big enough. However, it's hard to tell without seeing the animal in person. Go with something so he has room to move with heat gradient. He looks around a year or so from the photo, maybe more. It's a biak type from the photo and they can take up to two years to complete their color change. I'd probably give him a better perch, I'm glad this guy is no longer able to have it. It looks very neglected to me. That's my personal opinion, take it as you wish.

I agree. For at least the next few months i would keep him in a tub, one perch down the middle of the tub length wise, and paper towel substrate. He looks like he's in bad shape. But when he throws a solid shed for you he will be one hot biak!!!

Thanks guys. I'm about to upload some pics i just took. A little bit of his shed came of last night, i put some fake plants in his tank to help rub off some shed and got the humidity up to around 80%. He took a mouse last night and then took a dump. He is quite aggressive, i cant even get 6 inches from him without a strike. How do you recommend i transfer him into a tub?

Nice looking chondro. I would skip the wet pillow case and go with a tub setup, no perch, with moist paper towels as the substrate. If the skin doesn't come off with this technique, it would probably be best to wait it out for the next shed.

I would also recommend using smaller perches. Large perches have been known to cause kinks in younger animals that do not usually show up until later in life. If given the choice, chondro usually prefer smaller perches over larger ones.

Other than the stuck shed, the chondro looks very healthy. Good luck and keep us posted as it grows. I have an 8 year old biak that is still changing color today.....they take their time.

Well i put a smaller perch in with him, he explored it last night but never got on it. I tried to see if i could gently take him off but he was not having that. Thankfully i wore gloves so every bite didn't hurt. I gently tickled his tail and had his main coil on my hand but he would not release from his perch nor would he stop biting me. God he is mean! Any tips on how to get a super aggressive GTP of his perch? My copy of "the more complete chondro" should be here tomorrow. Cant wait to read that a few times!!!!!!!!
