Even though this was meant as a joke, I sometimes wonder this. I have a boa and a ball (with two other balls in the house), the balls honestly just sit there and prefer not to be bothered, boa on the other hand loves company and always wants to be held. Could be that I just got a cool boa.

But yea I love balls, but I think Boas make better companion pets.

Ok... not hijacking... uhm, just sharing a smiting story.

I used to have this rule that if you ran the gauntlet 3 times and lived, then you automatically got upgraded to breeder status.

Then I realized that I was actively selecting for really fast rodents and was developing a lightning fast line. :)

Not sure where I could have marketted them... but yeah, we altered the selection process somewhat.

LOL! Good one! Next time I get bitten by a feeder I'm using that line. Of course everyone else in the house at the time will wonder what the hell I'm up to in the snake room.

This is so true. I just have my first ball python, but have had my 6+ft boa for a while now. My roommate's friend came over one night. He's around 6'2"-6'4" himself and a marine. (This statement is nothing against the marines, just a comical story about this one) He looks like a big tough guy. Well, I had also decided to take Boots (my boa) out to play and was gonna get my roommate to video him just crawling around on me until she had to make some cheesecakes. So her friend became the lucky person to video tape us just chilling and him crawling around. He wouldn't get within 3 ft of me cause he was scared of Boots. I put Boots down on the carpet and he started crawling towards the guy and he jumped back. It was just too funny, but I wish I had video taped it cause it's funnier if you would have seen it. I'm sure other people have similar stories as well!!

Oh, on a good note though, I did get my mom to hold little Patsy (new @2ft ball python) the other day even though she's deathly afraid of snakes until Patsy came out of her "ball" and started crawling and she handed her back quickly

Well I just have one ball right now but Boots, my boa, sure does like to "cuddle" and is a lot more active all day long than Patsy (my bp) is.

I bother to like them because they often have a very good temperment, really low upkeep and they don't get too big, apart from being the best snakes in the world.:bow::bow:

they ARE boring!( To me in some ways!) but that dosnt mean i dont like them still. its a joke. I think people understand that ones interests can move on to other species. its not like i HATE Bps. *rollseyes* No need to turn this thread into a negative light. I think people are enjoying it.

Because they are cheap and easy to own, and they are going to make me rich when I find out if I have a female then breed her to my het for pieball and het for spider. :8: /sarcasm

Because they rock, and the potential for combos and the idea of seeing something so cool looking hatch every year keeps me motivated better than any other hobby has been able to do for me.

I didn't turn it to anything - i just questioned your motives because they seemed slightly dubious. I'm glad no one feels especially bad about what you said.
