Stressing...*rant party*

Stressing about when to ask the gf to get hitched is a biggie for me. She'll start applying for med school in the summer, so unless she gets into the U of Minnesota, there will be a big move. Then I'll probably dip into my savings to help her pay for med school because I know her parents can't afford it. And of course these savings are pretty much 100% invested, so those are hurting right now. I'm just holding on to everything and waiting, it's just scary to see big companies go down the tubes. On top of all that, I don't have a job. Luckily I have the best parents in the world and some other $ I've saved up that get my bills paid on time every month, but I hate relying on them, and feel bad about it.

1, i was in a wreck and wont have my car back for 3 weeks!
2, i dont have a way to school(because of the car) so im facing reenrolment
3, ive lost my job because of the car thing
4, i am 2000 dollars in debt to my apartment complex and im possibly going to have to sell the car or the (gasps) snakes
5, my back is KILLING me, and i ran out of my pills

Oh no! Thats aweful! If i could i would by your snakies off you then you could buy them back from me when you had the money... unfortunatly I am out of money right now.... good luck with everything!

thanks for the kind words!!! really i do appreciate it, and i am really really not wanting to sell them, its just that if they start to suffer because of all that has happend i wont have a choice, id rather get rid of them to good homes then hold on to them and they suffer becuase i have grown attached

Well, let's see:

Karl's temp assignment ended and he's been out of work for three weeks.
Unemployment decision won't be made until tomorrow.
Karl's SUV has a transmission that's slipping.
Karl put his back out today.
I have a killer toothache.
I've got $2 in my account until tomorrow (payday).
I'm part of a team of people who is rolling out Oracle 9.0 and due to my role, I can only work 20% of my time on my 40 hour a week job, and the other 80% on the Oracle project.

BUT.....
We are blessed!

I have a good job that is paying the bills.
We have a roof over our head.
We have food to eat three square meals a day.
We have awesome friends.
My company is going through layoffs, but this role I'm in practically assures my job security - will they hear me complain about the extra work? Not a chance!
We have awesome pets, both the furred and scaled variety.
We are already making our Holiday plans - which is a great reduction in gifts to each other, but plan to camp out all day on Christmas with rented movies, a ham slowly cooking in the oven, and attendance at the Christmas Eve Midnight service - and we're more excited about this year than past years!
Stocks are on SALE! We'd be a fool not to invest in them! :banana:

So - all in all - life is good!

I need a job so I can make some paychecks!! Invest early on in life, hold on for 40+ years, that's always been the plan. All these housing forcloseures make me wish I was in the market for a house right now.

I'm 26, still lving with my parents, have $45000+ in debt from student loans, a $2500 bill from a visit to the ER 2 months ago...all on a 15k salary. I usually can afford only one meal a day, too.

But I still have a girlfriend and all my snakes!

I just found out that I may be unemployed as of Monday. I'm the breadwinner in the family so that isn't good.

Ah, the life of a contractor :D

Hopefully I'll find out tomorrow what the deal is....
anyway I have lots of theraputic stress-reducing yard work planned for the weekend :banana:

I'm a college student so i know where you're coming from with the school stress. i'm only taking 3 classes this semester but i've got the work load of 6; and to top it off, one of my teachers is the biggest [insert preferred profanity] ever and will literally write on my assignments "you cannot write. I can't understand anything you've written here; you obviously don't understand anything". really? i can understand contructive criticism, but stuff like that just makes me want to give up. along with that, i'm really worried that my preferred presidential pick isn't going to win, my snakes keep getting scale rot over and over and i dont know why, i'm flat broke, i only have 2 months left before my boyfriend of 2 yrs goes to iraq (leaving me with no friends, 2 dogs, 4 snakes and a lonely house), my boss and managers at work are the most 2faced people i've ever met, and a very close friend of mine just stabbed me in the back about 2 weeks ago. so, when it comes to stress, your not alone! :) keep your chin up!
