    Nice... Thanks Kat for your post... Very informative... Im going to pick your brain a little more if you don't mind. The coloration I was referring to Shows up on the Male in your shot and not on the female, As I had previously thought. The patern I am referring to is not dorsal. When You turn them over on their back like that, the Goldish Yellow pattern that lines the underside of their back legs. I just want to make it clear that this is what I am questioning. Are these the "pores" you are reffering to? In the specimen I was observing this pattern was very vibrant. This is what led me to believe it was a male. Thanks Guys... I find this facsinating.

    With scelops around here, it has always been easiest to just look at the tail base to determine sex. Most of ours have a pretty distinct color difference though.
