Hey you, as you know, I setup the "pool" for my blood as well earlier this week. I hadn't observed him going to it, whether for a drink or a soak, and I really don't think he found it as he's on cypress mulch so I can pretty much see which areas of the enclosure he's moved about.

Last night I took him out for some handling, and when putting him back in I purposely placed him in the pool. He poked his head above water level and just chilled there. After just a few minutes though, he slithered his way out and hid under the bark hide on the opposite warmer side.

He hasn't moved from that area since last night. So unlike your issue of possibly soaking too much...I'm wondering if my guy is too lazy to even go for a drink and/or soak! :weirdface But after being placed in the pool last night, I'm hoping he's at least aware it's there as a water and/or soaking source.

Hahahaha!!! well, 2 of my BP's are total attention hounds... or seem to enjoy hanging out more... always at the front of the tub, crawling up my arm when I open it... but most seem really happy if I leave them alone... Sonja, I think she likes the interaction? She's so aware of her surroundings... she'll "sit" as long as I will, or until my hub walks bye fast... then she tries to make him die. :devilish:

It seems mine is in one day..(full 24 hrs) and out the next. Maybe someone with more Bloods experience will chime in.... I just know with other snakes, they can over soak to a bad point....

    lol, now I'm worried

As for Jelly... I'm sure he'll find his pool if he's thirsty! Lazy or not! :D
