A normal? I don't think so. Look at the full size picture, there's no hint of black at all, it looks nothing like a normal hatchling. It looks like a typical Amel. I may not be Kathy Love, but I have hatched Amels before, so I think I have a pretty good idea... :rolleyes:

Looks like a hypo motley/cubed... nothing special IMO but cool looking.

Yes, but this is mostly a BALL PYTHON site where people mostly own BPs, and on CS.com is where most people own CORN SNAKES and have people like Rich that can answer. This site is fine, just maybe not as knowledgeable on corn snakes.
For example, people that say it's an amel.. :rolleyes:

I most definitely isn't an amel. It could be a hypo, because as you mentioned there isn't much black. But motley has a hypo effect anyways, so lots of normal motleys look hypoish. But I guarantee you there's no way it's an amel; and if you've hatched amels that have that color, then you didn't hatch amels.

You missed where i was refering to this site not being able to give the "professional" opinion as the person refered to ;).We do have professional members here also :D

Normal Motleys frequently do not have much black or no black on them at all. I have seen many that do not have black and are still normal motleys.

I did not mean to offend by my comment on professionalism, I was merely suggesting that if the OP went to a site designed for corn snakes, they may get a quicker and more definitive opinion that could be relied upon. This site is an excellent one filled with many knowledgeable people, but IMO if you want definitive info on corns, the best place to get it would be a corn snake forum. I would rather ask a question about Balls here, and a question about corns on cs.com.

The snake doesn't have red eyes, it's not an amel....that's the end of that.

And incidentally, Kathy is a friendly helpful person who would probably answer your question if you email her a photo of your snake. I'm in the process of buying some babies from her and have found her to be wonderful to deal with.

It's been a great surprise to find that both Kathy and Scott Felzer (probably the leading garter expert and breeder) to be excellent to deal with, ask questions and get help from, and communicate with.
