any ways, i think carpets just like MPenn said, will fill that void that people will have when our government goes crazy... bleh. but i do know that if i didnt have a limit, i would deff have a couple more pairs around my house, they are IMO some of the sweetest snakes i have ever come into contact with.
i tell people they are like big soft lovable dogs smooshed into a snake's body...
but then again, ball pythons are also a huge thing partially because of their smaller size. i mean, thats a big reason BPs are one of my faves is the fact that they will never be as big as my rainbow boa... but then again, thats why i love the carpets -- the fact that they get kinda big, but most of the time, with the time you put into them, they are big soft lumps of snake lol

Re: New Carpet Morphs
...and what's really great is the variability of all of these carpets. You can selectively breed for just about any trait that you wish. People have been selectively breeding jungle carpets for years for clean black and yellow, there has been some selective breeding in IJs for a lighter, more rust colored python, selective breeding across the board for striping, and the list goes on and on.
As carpets become more popular, and more morphs are proven, these selective bred traits also have a place in these projects. It seems every clutch that hatches, the breeder has something unique and slightly different to offer.
You never just produce all normals with these pythons, there's always something a little different. Every carpet collection is vastly different than the next, which you can't always say with other python species.
Hop over to moreliapythons.com and check out the clutches that are hatched - it's crazy how variable they are.
Here's an example of clutchmates, and how different they can be.

It's great stuff - not only all the morphs, but getting into carpets you soon realize that producing cool and different pythons isn't just isolated to breeding & producing the outstanding morphs - it's across the board.
