The worst petstore in the world(its not a petco)

Its not Super pets though but its just as nasty :mad:

I would talk to the owner/manager/whoever is in charge 1st. It may be that they just don't know any better, and I would be willing to give them benefit of doubt that they could change.

When I look back when I started keeping snakes, I was an idiot in some of the things I did. It wasn't because I was negligent, I just didn't know better, and once I did I changed things. Maybe this is the case with him or her.

That being said, if it does fall on deaf ears or they are unwilling to make changes, then I would report them. But I think that reporting before talking to them is being a little rash.

Well went to peoria and visited this DUMP again :mad:.I was not shocked that it was even WORSE then my first visit :mad: :mad:.I will be calling the Grande Prarie Mall and alert them to this STINKING PIG STYE:mad::mad:.I will also be calling the local animal shelter as the dogs they sell had dog poo everywhere and the place stunk :mad::mad:.I was there shortly after they opened the doors also so NO EXCUSE :mad::mad:.Do not buy from Grande Prarie Pets in the new mall in peoria :mad::mad:

That is very sad. Here in Mexico is very rare to find a petshop with the animals kept clean. I have talked many times to the owners and they always claim to know exactly what their animales need, they just dont take advice from a simple customer...

Me as an animal lover, I can't stand to see neglect like that......the animals aren't like us, they can't fend for themselves in captivity.......I say NO TOLERANCE turn em in!

Well i called the local animal shelter and she was not shocked at my complaint.It seems they have had SOOOOO many complaints that they are directing people to the place that licenses this pet store ;).I gave them a detailed complaint and the lady promised me they will be dealt with ASAP ;).I will drop in again in a week or so to get a updated checkup

Well i visited this pet store again today to see if anything changed.Well i talked to the owner himself and i was told a guy named Joe is the reptile keeper there :rolleyes:.Well i know Joe as he was a member in our local reptile club a few years back.He also worked at the petco(go figure :rolleyes:).He was forced out of our reptile club because of his poor husbandry skills.Myself and the whole reptile club members tried to tell joe the proper ways to keep his reptiles but he could careless what we said.He listened to the "petco" ways and killed ALOT of reptiles because of it :mad:.So with this added info I WILL NEVER go inside of that petstore in the Grand Prarie Mall in Peoria Illinois.It makes me mad to waste my time trying to help someone and be told they know more then myself :mad:.I am not a "know it all" but i do know enough ;).I did give the lady working there the info of our site here for her son to come check us out :D.He even agrees that this petstore is keeping the reptiles in the wrong maner :D.Well enough of my ranting :P

Wow, scary about Joe. But kudos to you for trying! Keep up the good work.

I'd turn them in. There is a difference between not knowing and not caring, but it seems like its obvious here that they don't care.

Not to mention this is a person that makes their living off of selling animals - if their income depends on it I'm sure that they know HOW to take care of their animals but its just not cost effective for them.

Please turn them in, don't bother talking to them. I mean - who doesn't know that its cruel to have puppies in a tiny cage that is covered in poop? They know, they just don't care.

Okay, so looking at the dates I'm a little late on this one - what ever happened with it? Did it get shut down?

:mad:Turn those morons in!!!! they should not be selling animals if they can't care for them. It really hisses me off when people keep animals in unfair conditions, and just the fact that its an entire store really really hisses me off! I wouldn't give them warning. If anyone thinks I'm not being fair that petstore should have taken better care of their animals. Animal abuse, now thats not fair!!:mad:
