The first two or three Megadeth albums were just speed fests to show they could play fast. Rust in Peace was their first really good album and considered highly influencial. Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia were great albums too. Then it just went down hill. Megadeth is also an unstable band. It's just Dave and whoever he likes at the moment.

I hate Metallica's (read: Lars) attitude now. Load and Reload weren't bad. They were different. When the napster stuff happened I lost a lot of repect for them. Lars showed he was a tool. I was reakky pissed at them for forcing Jason to leave. That said, I have seen their recent shows on the net and they still know how to put on a show even though they are all old and ugly (except Kurt who somehow doesn't age).

I have huge repect for Dave though.

The first Metallica album was a speed fest. Megadeth's "Peace Sells" all though fast, had a lot of slow parts and lotsa songs started out with an accoustic. And the song "Peace Sells" at the time was lyrically far beyond ANY metal band was writing and showed you Dave had a brain. Both 'Tallica and Megdeth's 3rd albums were both fast and heavy. Also, Dave's writing was going beyond was most bands were doing. As for the 4th album's from both, Rust In Peace was way better.
My theory though on band's first album of the 90's goes as follows: It was their last great album or their first bad album. The Black Album and Countdown to me werent that great from either band. Load and Reload were just terrible! As for Dave changing musicians, yeah, he did but so did Chuck Schuldiner from Death and Chuck was a leader in the extreme music scene and was and still is highly respected!

    Megadeth!

I mean come on you have to admit Metallicas music AND lyrics were a laughing stock after the black album. They went from sounding Metal to sounding like a pathetic garage band...

maybe their musical talent was in their hair... lol

Oh and I agree with whoever said Dave had the better voice...
