Re: Bless Her Heart!
I agree with Kim on this one, i think the law/government has serious issue's with the way they do things. If that where to be me/you we would not get 2nd or 3rd chance's like Paris did, and we sure would get more then 45 days *23 on good behavior* it's just sad the way things work. *rant off*

Re: Bless Her Heart!
it kind of pisses me off when i see people on tv saying "if she wasn't paris hilton...." it's bull. my bf is currently facing the same charges (yet to be sentenced) and is sure to do jail time. i think that the judge had every right to punish her as he did. EVERYBODY around here drives home from the bar. very rarely do i see a designated driver. nowhere near enough of them get caught. maybe if the media wasn't playing "poor paris" people would see that their actions DO have consequences and they CAN get jail time.
but, mostly, i'm just sick of seeing her face everywhere i look.

She is getting what she deserves...
I live in the area of where she is, and I have NO sympathy for anyone who will endanger my life or the lives of others by driving under the influence.
I am very glad she is going back to jail. Her being a over hyped privledged socialite should not have any bearing on her sentance, but it does make me feel good that she is getting what she deserves.
AND! For the record, I highly doubt that she has any worthwhile medical problems that should have ever allowed her to get out of jail the first time.
People in jail have HIV and Cancer and are not allowed out for home arrest..

CHA-CHING!
That's the truth!
I don't feel one bit sorry for her either. I'm sick and tired of celebrities getting "special treatment" just because they have money and a publisist. I'm sick and tired of famous people being portrayed and treated like they are BETTER than everyone else and deserve to be treated like gods.
The average nobody sure as heck would not be able to get away with some lame excuse about panic attacks and get let out on house arrest.

AMEN!!! that's exactly my point, just becuase I make a Movie and have millions of dollars I get a slap on the wrist. But.... If I work for a living I get time in prison and or a fine. It's really nice isn't it?

Re: Bless Her Heart!
Paris is a big girl she will get over it and if she doesn't, oh well, welcome to the real world!
Aside from her going to jail what has she ever done to warrant all this public attention. It's not like she is a big star or anything. Just a spoiled rich kid brat.

According to her Wiki:
Paris was arrested and charged with DUI in Sept 2006. She pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge, her license was suspended, and she was put on probation for 36 months. In Feb 2007, she was caught speeding, with no headlights, with a suspended license. She was charged with those offenses along with failure to enroll in a court ordered alcohol education program.
I've also seen first-hand the effect of drunk driving. I am in no way advocating driving under the influence of anything. But the law should be applied equally to everyone. Making an example out of someone simply because she is a celebrity is wrong, period.
I think the news coverage is overblown. My local news actually showed live footage of Paris being driven to court this morning. I just think there are better things to spend my time worrying about. Like shoes.
I think 45 days is a fair sentence. I don't see how she is being made an example of. Unless the laws in Cali are way different then the laws here in Va.
It's not a 45 day sentence just for driving on a suspension, it is also for violation of probation and failure to report to her alcohol classes.
Heck she got a break when busted for DUI and had it dropped to a reckless charge the first time. This second time she pretty much was thumbing her nose at the courts, laws and probation. She won't do the full 45 days ( no one would ) you get time off ie every two days served you get a day off or whatever Cali's deal is. ( different in every state.)

Actually, the judge himself said he was making an example of her. I'm not arguing whether the 45 days is fair or not, it's just been said in several news stories I've watched that it's not a standard sentence and that most people in the same area would get far less than that. Obviously it's within the legal limits, or the lawyers would be screaming about it.
And whether it's a fair sentence or not, I still say she should have to serve it out. No normal person would be let out without due process, so she should have to suck it up like anyone else.

Re: Bless Her Heart!
Just so you guys know, it hasn't really been discussed on here but other people were complaining how shes getting 23 days good time cuz shes Paris. Thats not true Everyone gets good time, if their good Someone i know got their Second DUI and They Got a 30 days sentence 10 days in Jail 10 days house arrest and the last 10 days were taken off for good time. Just to clear that up
That being said i think her 45 day sentence was a little harsh but i do agree she shouldnt have been let out early that is special treatment

The media feeds the public their trash stories and people bite. Folks just can't get enough whether they love her or hate her. Everybody wants to know what's going to happen next and as long as that is the order of the day we will continue to see her picture everywhere. People love their drama.
