Re: I just found eggs!!!!!
I soaked both of my girls in the sink for about 2-3 minutes, then wiped them down with chlorhexidine(including their faces). Also thoroughly cleaned their tubs with chlorhex. The first girl to lay ate within the week, and the other girl ate 2 days later. They seem quite content and not stressed that their eggs are gone. I think one girl was glad to have those out of her as she can now concentrate on what she does best; eating(fatbutt snake).

awesome.. right after Jo said to wash everything I did a total chlorhex wash down of everything including Scarlett. When I put her back in instead of acting like she was still surrounding eggs she started to actually wonder around her tub for a while.
good to know I was on the right track.. thanks girls :)

Re: I just found eggs!!!!!
Make sure any chlorhexidine you are using on the snakes is the chlorhexidine gluconate and not the chlorhexidine diacetate. Some people that resell the chlorhexidine don't realize there is a difference.
Chlorhexidine Diacetate is toxic. Yes, even in its diluted form. It was designed purely to be a cleaner of EQUIPMENT. Be it cages, tongs, water dishes, probes, etc. It is not meant to be used directly on animals nor is it safe to be inhaled, applied to the skin, ingested, etc, etc. IT IS TOXIC. YOU MUST RINSE ALL RESIDUE AWAY THOROUGHLY WITH POTABLE WATER. But it is also a very excellent cleaner and Disinfectant, Bactericide and Virucide. And unlike bleach was designed to easily rinse away with potable water.
Chlorhexidine Gluconate is a different product completely. It is designed as an antiseptic and antimicrobial disinfectant that can be used directly on an animal or its minor wounds. Rinse area to be disinfected with an ample amount of Chlorhexidine Solution. Wipe away excess and pat dry with a sterile gauze or sponge. In its diluted form it is non-toxic, non-irritating agent possessing a wide range of antiseptic and antimicrobial activity against organisms which infect the skin, such as bacteria, fungi, ringworm and yeast.
Just a heads up.

Re: I just found eggs!!!!!
See, I can't even make myself pay the $60-$70 that it costs for a gallon of Nolvasan concentrate.. I just can't justify it, LoL. If I need to really disinfect something, it gets washed and then sprayed with Parv-o-way. But the chlorhex gluc. works great for general cleaning(and I can spray my face with it if I am quarantining a rat or something, LOL).
Re: I just found eggs!!!!!
Just to add to the great info that has already been posted. I do it a bit different than the others. After my females lay, I was the tub and water bowl with water and Dawn liquid soap. Refill the tub with fresh bedding, and then bathe the snake with dawn liquid sopa lathered up really well. After replacing the female in the tub, I generally leave her alone for at least 24 hours. Typically my snakes will eat within 2 - 10 days after laying, and usually within about 8 weeks (about the time her eggs are hatching) they will be nearly back to breeding weight (assuming it wasn't a huge clutch). It seems that they will put back on about 200 to 300 grams of weight after about 5 or 6 feedings. Hope that helps.
