    Thanks for all the good wishes guys'n'galz. :oops:

    Actually only had one wee dram the entire night - was more of all the family came to laugh at the youngster that's went grey and stopped acting like an idiot ( well almost :P ).

    And the picture below is a good warning not to give your camera to the drunk aunt and expect anything useable out the other side - though the one in the background is worse.

    In a depressing state of affairs I ended up having less to drink than any of the rest of them - but I am quietly planning a drunken rampage with friends for a later date. Thats my mum and dad by the way - as you can see hair is entirely optional in my family.:D

    Apparently if I make it to 60 the party will be even worse.

    On the plus side I got 2 bottles of extremely good malt whisky and a fair wodge of cash I intend to use as the seed to grow more snakes from.:carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

    Your family look pretty nice, Derek. It looks like you had a great time. :carrot: So what kind of whiskey did you get... single malt I hope. ;)

    they sit behind me as I type their eyes seductively glinting golden beams of love at my palate. But I shall be strong..... I give that about a week tops then I will get the hear the best sound in the world - the thunk of a drawing cork and the gurgle of a filling glass.

    LOL. I know that feeling. Macallan's one of my favorites, but I haven't heard of Jura before. Looks really good. A couple more of my favorites (I have many) are Highland Park and Lagavyoooolin. :P

    Cool,

    I like highland park as well but lagavulin is a little feisty for me. :oops:

    I do however like this one;

    Many a pleasant hour can be spent in a bar with a good malt selection as long as you have no need of your legs afterwards.

    Wow, that one sounds interesting. Less peaty than a regular Islay but just as smokey? I'll have to look for it.

    BTW, do you get an employee discount for being scottish? :D
