Re: tresspasser!!
Everyone sounds a might bit paranoid. I lived in the middle of 350 acres for a long time. Most times trespassers were just out strolling and enjoying getting away from the city. Once in a great while we would have to remind hunters that they were on private property. Many of the people who wandered up were related to neighbors and were enjoying being in the country, not realizing they had left their aunt or uncles property. Sometimes coming up to watch the animals. If I noticed someone I would introduce myself and get a feel for what they were about. The only bad time was when we had to chase kids off that were harassing the dogs.

Re: tresspasser!!
Yesh, she was probably just doing that. We have a third neighbor in between us and the "tresspasser's" house, and maybe she just got permission to walk on her land, and strayed off? It is easy to get confused out there really; it is all scrubland in this part (the woods is farther back) and Mark and I went out on the quad last night when he got home; maybe she figured that the horse fence was the boundary..? She was walking along a creek, so I don't know if that is ir is not technically trespassing, since around here you can fish in any body of water, though it is illegal to trespass over someone's actual land to get to it..?

Re: tresspasser!!
Okay let me see if I got this right from this thread? The woman who may or may not be your neighbour was perhaps innocently meandering down the creekside enjoying a nice spring day. You snap shots of her, run to your house, grab a gun and jump on your ATV. You at some point fire off warning shots (did I really get that right?). Your landlord is apparently the type to sit around in a tree stand, with a loaded gun whilst he slugs down a few cold brewskies?
Hon I'd have booked it too! I don't know about you but where I come from we say hey to the neighbours, maybe put the coffee on and we don't mix booze and guns LOL.

Re: tresspasser!!
I didn't shoot at anyone! It was on the other end of the house where we have a target area to shoot at; the bullets go into the side of a hill.
Our LL has a carry-on pistol permit, and just carries his gun as a matter of course. He lives in the city in one of the crappy neighborhoods, and so I do not blame him for getting a carry-on permit..
But this person (I could not tell if it was male/female, and really both sexes have the potential to kill me anyway) and seeing a broad-shouldered person walking up to my horse fence, I was just put-off and angered by it. I know of someone local who had horses poisoned by someone who didn't like them (our mare, Cuesta, survived this at their place.) I do not trust anyone, I guess.. even if she fed them something innocent like a donut, it could cause them to colic..
We do live a bit close to Attica prison, and since they drop off ex-cons out in the sticks, that scares me too..
I just hate when people scare me, I guess. We know the old woman whose property the girl was also on, but not the people next to her; guess we should have to meet now.
