    Okay, I saw it and was really disappointed. :-( Without providing too many spoilers, I thought it was totally predictable and unimaginative, not to mention possibly inflammatory in this time of Middle Eastern strife, what with the buff white guys fighting for righteous freedom against the tyrannical and licentious Persians. I found the whole thing a little bit disquieting. I had hoped for so mch more.

    I hope it was predictable since it was based on a graphic novel from 1998, another movie from 1962, and the real life event of The Battle of Thermopylae that took place in 480 B.C.

    In the real battle a bunch of buff white guys did kill a bunch of Persians that occupied present day Iran. So I can see where you found a resemblance to the current Middle Eastern strife.
