I am not releasing a CD, but a local band in the Houston area called Salting Jobe is. I'm a "guest" on one of their songs both live and on the CD. :)
They are an awesome band with an original sound. I would say they are somewhere in the "metal" genre, but nowhere near Death Metal, Black Metal, or any of that. You can find them on MySpace to listen to a few tracks. The track that I am on is not available to listen to on their MySpace page though. If you want to hear that one, I could send it to you via an instant messenger or something of that sort.

I would love to hear your track; I am always looking for new bands/singers, and MTV, or the radio, is not the place to do that sadly. I think that MySpace is doing awesome things for people who are starting out in the way of promotion.
My fiancee recently started a Slayer cover band recently with his friends, and they have started a MySpace page.. I am atcually taking photos of them next week to post there, though we haven't gotten any songs up there, I will definately post when there are. :) You metalheads will definately bee impressed with their sound; they even resemble the band in terms of hair!
Gettin' back to the OT, I think that it was hard in the beginning for women in metal; seeing as the original "men" of metal used us as sex objects in their videos.. it is SO awesome that bands like Heart, Vixen, etc. paved the way and showed the world that either sex can rock.
