I've never liked Peta. I love animals and I think they have some rights, but honestly, I'm not in love with them. :8:

[QUOTE=Mendel's Balls]Have you ever been frozen? I'd think it be one of the worst ways to go.....

Frozen or tortured? Hmmm.... I go with Frozen any day. I say right on Peta for not helping the cattle! They would of been sent to the butcher farm and tortured anyways. And atleast the heard will die together in eachother warmth and jus tslowly go to sleep. The bets way to die. Being frozen isnt a bad thing, especially one you learnm how the farm animals are killed and treated most of their life... dying together is much better than having to see your family being tortured and die slowly and knwo your turn will be next.. seriosuly, people need to know more about this stuff...

Death is a part of life. It's nice that you are apparently vegetarian, and I assume that all your pets are too. But me and mine like to eat critters. I'll support more humane treatment, but have you ever been in a butchery yourself? I mean not looking at a video editted to show the more horrible offenses, but actually been in one? I've been there. 99.9% of animals slaughtered die very quickly. Cows do not look at the other cow that goes into a doorway and go "Oh gee, I bet they are killinghim, and he's my half-brother, and I'm gonna grieve now." Sorry, but I've looked at cows inside and outside the slaughterhouse. They really aren't all that concerned, right up until the end.
It isn't like the butchers want to hang a living cow up and butcher it alive, that would be dangerous the them. Cows ahve a tendancy to kick.
You're posting on a ball-python forum, where a LOT of the members feed frozen thawed rodents. What do you think happens to those rats? They are raised and killed. And Rats are a lot smarter than a cow.
Freezing to death ain't real pleasant. I dunno what your experiances are, but I'd rather die from a humane bolt through my skull than to lie around shaking and becoming ill, until I finally get to that point of numbness where I go to sleep to die. That last bit of time might be 'going to sleep' and dying. Up to that is a misrable horrible thing. Ever had hypothermia?
There are a LOT of people honorably making their living of death and killing. Until you somehow convince everyone and everything on earth to somehow become vegetarian, it's going to continue.

They just keep digging themselves a deeper hole. No government is every going to listen to these people when they want laws changed to ban animals. Or to "liberate" them.

Maybe someone needs to "liberate" Peta.

Perhaps, but MILLIONS of dollars are donated to PETA annually and oodles (dare I repeat myself? naaaaah) thousands of ppl are members. There can't be THAT many mentally disturbed and unstable ppl in the general population.

ONE of the worst things, is that they cry and plead for the animals' sake, but then do this crazy stuff.....how about getting pets and then deliberately gassing them instead of trying to rehome them??? Check out the data / numbers/ information on Kathy Loves site linking to a more accurate exposure of what PETA REALLY does!

< The thing that torques ME the most is the garbage that PETA does, as demo'd by Penn & Teller's BS >

As a person who raised dairy cattle and grew up eating 'em....cattle are smart, but they don't have the reasoning ability to (see RED above). They sense and can smell fear and death and that in turn will frighten them, but during humane procedures, the animal doesn't know, understand or suffer.

ANY farmer or rancher who neglects or abuses his animals would be bankrupt so fast!!!........... U can't have a livelihood dependent on animals and deliberately NOT care for them. You and your family would starve as well!!!! Whether it be farming, ranching, eggs, dairy, rodeo.....It's OUR responsibility to PROPERLY care for and provide for the animals. Members here are a PRIME example of the good and loving care for ALL sorts of pets.

It's PETA and their ilk that are destroying such caring environs and brainwashing the populace to make it seem like ANY animal in captivity is destined for abuse, neglect and a horrific life altogether.

I'll give my few hard-earned donation dollars (if/when I have 'em) to PRESERVATION of wild areas, PROTECTION of endangered species, and organizations like St. Jude who do MEANINGFUL WORK!!!!!!!
