Dang it!!!! I'm going to have to hop over the border and get some silk worms! My babies would LOVE some of those.

I agree with slartibartfast, homeschooling rocks! My husband and I home school our kids too...wouldn't do it any other way. ;)

Kind of like they need the "social exposure" to drugs, alcohol, sex and violence?

That's probably the single biggest misconception about homeschooling..."ohhh the poor kids are isolated from the world".
    WRONG!

Parents who home school are, 9 times out of 10, part of a community per se' of homeschoolers. Our children get LOTS of social interaction with other children their age. They have field trips with other homeschooling parents and children, sporting events, extracurricular activities and yes, they have.....friends.
They also get a *much* better education that is based one on one instead of 40 to 1.

What home schooled children *don't* get is teachers molesting them, students beating them up, passing them drugs and alcohol, they don't get into gangs, they don't participate in drive by shootings...and they don't get the whirlwind of bad influences in general.

OT rant finished...now back to our regularly scheduled thread. :D

I'm a dog groomer. Hard, often gross job, but always interesting. :)

    I was homeschooled and I'm not a wacko. :)
