If you would like to breed and sell ANY reptile, here are my suggestions:

    1. Learn how to type properly. The reptile industry is full of professionals that support their families by selling animals and hobbiest that conduct themselves in a professional manner. If you want to sell reptiles, these people are your competition. No decent customers are going to purchase from a person that conducts themselves in a manner that does not seem professional which includes numerous grammar and spelling errors.

    2. You have to show love of the animals first. Concern of 'how to make money' comes second. If you have love of the animals then the way you care for your animals and the way you conduct business reflects that love.....and your business will do great as a result of that love.

    3. Start off breeding reptiles that anyone interested in reptiles can keep easily. Ball pythons are a perfect example of a great animal to breed. They take up minimal space and are begineer level animals. On the other hand, burms take up tons of space and are advanced animals due to their size. Burms are also being restricted in alot of areas due to their large size and invasive nature. Who wants to buy an animal that might cause them trouble?

    4. Plan to do alot of waiting. Most reptiles take at least 12-18 months to reach breeding size....Some take longer. Ball python females can take 3 years to get to breeding size. If you spend $10,000 on reptiles, there is no guarantee that you will start seeing any return on the money from breeding immediately. Bad breeding seasons happen and animals are not predictable, so don't try to count your snakes before they hatch.

    5. Take your time to learn about the reptile industry. There are tons of ways that people have created successful businesses in this community. Personally, I enjoy sitting back, watching and listening to the community to see how things function.....and because of that, I have gained a good understanding of how things work in this industry. Some people try to jump into reptile businesses without knowing what lies below the surface......they only end up with a broken neck and an empty wallet.

Oh really? From who? What are you going to house them in? How much research have you actually done on breeding ball pythons? Not to sound skeptical, but it takes a lot of time to get these guys up to breeding size.

How are you planning to house the balls you just purchased? How do you plan to heat each enclosure, what type of thermostats will you be using? Are you going to have 40 gallon breeders for each of your snakes, or do you plan to house them together?
