    Re: New Shots
Alright Lisa77. Excuse me for apparently being too stupid to understand my snakes. Excuse me for being too stupid to know their habits, and being able to interpret their signals.

I am Puppy's second owner. His owner before me worked for the zoo, in the reptile house. Puppy was one of the snakes that was part of the reptile program that traveled to elementary schools and educated children. He was picked specifically for the program due to his very, very, very calm and laid back nature. Puppy is one of the most social snakes you will ever meet. Despite the fact that he has a hide in his tank [NO, they are NOT housed together. They're actually on seperate sides of the room] he never goes in it, that I have seen. And they stay in MY room. Puppy prefers to be out, where he can see things. And both of them, more than anything, hate their tanks.

Absinthe, while not as social as Puppy, is my boyfriend's baby. He would kill over that snake. Just as I am well in tune with Puppy, my boyfriend can tell you Absinthe's attitude with a single glance. And yes, the two are friends. Why do I say this? Maybe because they'd rather be together than apart. If we take them out, they strain to be near each other. If we put them down, the first thing they do is go to each other. When only one is out, it attempts to get into the others tank.

Excuse me if I have taken both my snakes to the vet, and had them checked out. Excuse me if my vet, after having seen them both and seen for himself how they interact, told me that in his opinion, my care of them was fine.

I'm far from stupid. I'm always asking questions, whether it's here, or the vet. I'll call them just to ask them something small.

Yes, I take my snakes out in public. When it's warm, and as long as it's not too crowded. Sure, dogs and snakes are very different creatures, but if a person can carry around their dog, then why can I not carry around my snake?

Both of my snakes eat normally, shed normally, and aside from Puppy's intense love for people, they both act normally. If we don't take them out, they get antsy and circle their tanks. Our snakes, for as long as we've had them, haven't been tank snakes. I'm sorry if that offends anyone, but my snakes are a huge part of my life and a huge part of me. As long as I'm in the house and we don't have nervous guests over, my snakes are out. They're part of my family. My little sister used to be terrified of snakes. Now she knocks on my door every morning and asks me if she can come in and say hello to Puppy.

I'm not going to say your jealous. But I am going to say that you should consider the personality of the SNAKE. They're like people, and I don't care what anyone says. They each have their own individual personality and tastes, and if you can't see that in your own snakes, then you don't spend enough time with them.

That's really all I have to say in my own defense. I know my snakes. They're one of the most important things in my life. You're the idiot if you think I'd jeopardize them in some way.

Also, Lisa77, if you think I need my snakes to get attention, you must be blind. No, I don't think myself better than anyone, and I'm not trying to say that. But statistically, I get far more attention than the average person, snake or no. Excuse me for that too. I'll try and stay out of public, since apparently just because I take my snakes out, I'm an attention craving whore. It's not enough that people take pictures, grope me, whistle at me, try and pick me up... all on a daily basis whether my boyfriend or snake is there or not. Damn. Sucks for me... I just need some more attention soooo bad that I take my snake with me. I mean really. That's the only way to do it /sarcasm

As for the rest of you, thank you for your compliments, and your defense arguments. Now. That's all I want to hear about my methods of caring for MY snakes. This is a PICTURE thread, so let's return to talking about those.

Lisa77, this is your first public warning. Please try to keep a level of civility when typing on your key board or don't type anything at all. You've made a lot of assumptions and a lot of rude comments towards many people here and the US in general. Totally unacceptable and uncalled for! Either offer an apology or go clear your head before you type again.!
