Will it be wide enough for her? I don't want to go from making her feel to out in the open to being cramped for space lol:confused:

Feeling "cramped for space" is not something a ball python relates to. I think that tub should be fine for awhile. Set it up and give it a try for a few weeks. If your snake eats every week, then you'll know you've got a good setup. :)

Ok. How long should I give her to settle in before trying to feed her? About a week or so...or longer. Is ther anyway of telling if she's comfortable and content other than eating well?

I'd give her a week in her new home, then try to feed. As for how to tell how she's feeling in the meantime, If she's using her hide and staying "hidden" most of the time, but out exploring a little bit every now and then...she's probably feeling comfortable.

The container that I'm getting ready to move her into has lid with the "tabs" that lock the lid in place do you think that should be sufficiant to keep her from getting out?

It might be...but I couldn't really say without seeing it. Try this: snap the lid into place and then try to lift up one of the sides. I'm guessing the "snaps" are at the ends, so try to lift up the middle of the long side. If you can lift it enough to see ANY amount of space between the lid and the lip of the tub, then it's concievable that your BP could get through there.

Little metal paper clamps work well to secure those long sides.

If you use clips to secure it, here's an example of putting a clip on:

The "tabs" are in the middle on both sides (not on the ends), but if I try I can get a corner up a wee bit. I'm familiar with those type of clips, but I don't have any at this time. Is there anything else (preferably around the house) that I can use instead?

There are clips similar to "Chip Clips" that you can use. I don't know if you have any, but here they are. I think it's a 4-pack at Home Depot for a couple dollars if you don't have any, but I'm not sure. You'd have to go there.
