    I don't think I'll be attending the TARAS show in Calgary in September. Red Deer is located inbetween Calgary and Edmonton and is about a 90 minute drive from Calgary. The show is August 26th and 27th. You can get more information from this website;

    http://www.reptileshowandsale.com/reddeer.htm

If you have any questions regarding the show Walter is a good guy and will help you out with any questions (he runs the show and can be contacted from the link above).

The show is very easy to get to from Calgary as it is just off the highway on the right hand side just as you come into Red Deer.

Ooh, neat. I learned we are moving all through september, so the move won't be too stressful for anybody either. I'll mention it to him!

Okay, the breeder replied and says he will replace him for me. I just don't know...

Mousch. Just an observation and maybe unfounded, but little Hero didn't seem to be sitting "right" on your neck. His tail is up in the air and so is his head. I know when my BP was a baby (not much bigger than Hero was) he always curled his tail round some part of me (yes, it was my neck when he was small - he's a lot bigger now and hooks his tail under my arm) and unless he was looking up at something, his head was level with his body.

It's just something I noticed after reading one of Corey's posts where he says the BP looks very small.

    Anyone else noticed that too?

    Poor little thing:(

I'm sorry for your loss, and that I didn't see this thread sooner... poor little guy... he had a happy home for his short life, though. I'm glad the breeder is trying to make it right...

    Mousch,

If it were me, I think I'd take a pass from the other breeder and take Corey up on his offer. There's no way that breeder didn't know that Hero was not healthy just from the pictures you shared. I'd ask the breeder if he'd just refund your money, tell him you need to take some time before you're ready for another, because you didn't expect to lose the first one so soon (you had mentioned not wanting to get on this other breeder's bad side in another thread - based on his reputation in the ball community in Canada - if I'm remembering correctly).

I don't know Corey personally, but I know his name (Hi and welcome to the forum, by the way Corey!) and have not heard or read of any negative feedback on him that I can remember. I believe that you will get a nice healthy and well started baby from Corey!

I'm thinking of that too. I'll see. If I can get an assured CB from him with a feed and shedding record, we'll try. If not we'll pay corey a visit in Red Deer, possibly.

I really doubt I will get a snake assured CB with paperwork though.

I'd be very wary of getting another snake from that breeder Mousch. I really think you'd be better getting a refund, then getting a nice, healthy BP from Corey.

When I looked at the pic of little Hero, it went through my mind, did he have IBD? It's something I've never seen, and I hope I never do so other more experienced people on this forum would have a better knowledge of that disease than I do. I do know that IBD is highly contagious between Boids and that the stricken snake "star gazes" and doesn't have good co-ordination.

There is also the possibility that it could have been something genetic, which may not show in another snake from that breeder but could show up if you bred from that snake in the future.

I really think you'd be wise to consider getting a full refund from the breeder. If he's any good as a breeder (and I have my doubts) he will give you a full refund without question.

If you are going to use the same viv to keep your new snake in, please make sure it is thoroughly disinfected, along with any viv furniture, water bowls etc. Better still, dump the lot and get new. Better safe than sorry.

A healthy BP (Royal Python we call them over here) is a joy to own:D
