How many bad bites so far?

Mine was freaky when I got home yesterday - I'd given him a larger than usual tub of water the evening before and by the time I got back yesterday lunchtime he'd been in the tub (he can get his whole self in it and swim around practically) - there was topsoil smeared up the walls, on the glass and all over everything and one very guilty looking filthy monitor glaring at me. I opened the door to talk to him and he immediately kicked up a storm hissing and flinging hisself around in there. I just left him to calm down for a bit ;) You just don't want to mess with monitors in that mood :bolt:

I've never been bitten either but I dont' think its because I'm too smart - it's because I've been lucky or haven't had my rtb long enough to get bitten. She's 1 1/2 years old, 4+ ft. long and very docile but she hissed at me today from her hide. I guess she didn't want any human looking in at her! My ball python has never hissed or bitten me.

I agree with the Sav owner....lizards tend to be much worse than snakes. I have been bitten pretty good by a full grown Argus monitor and a large Tegu - both which hurt like hell.

I must have the most docile red-tail boa ever! She never ever ever even struck at me! (she's just over 3' now)

Apache has bitten me a few times; all were my fault. Twice was when he was not eating a rat and i removed it!

An Argus bite :eek: ouch!!

My sav still hasn't gotten me yet so far - I can read sav language pretty good now - (well, his anyway). The only bite I got was from my tiniest little rankins dragon and that was because he mistook my finger for a wax worm - it didn't hurt at all of course and I thought it was really funny :D

i was lookin over a thread on another forum yesterday and someone showed a pic of a guy who got bit by a medium sized croc monitor. there were two HUGE gashes on the back of his hand. ill try to find it for you guys. it was nuts!

Ewww! A really nasty bite (strikes croc-monitor off "wanted" list ;) )

I'll never take croc monitor off my wanted list!! Look at the ceiling fan, you can see the reflection in the blood!!
