i'll take a gander and asume that redtails give birth to live young? that must rock.
is the gestatoin period longer for redtails than for boas that give birth to eggs? like do they have to make up the time inside the mother?

Yes, boas have live birth.
Essentially boas carry their young through the entire development stage instead of laying eggs. :)
Re: Female gave birth!!!! (D/U Warning)
ok cool, but my i'm still not clear. for example lets say that it like 55 days after a python lays eggs they hatch. does a boa carry those eggs for an extra 55 days or are the two processes entirely disimiliar?
Re: Female gave birth!!!! (D/U Warning)
Ball Pythons: ovulate - 17 days later (+ or -) will shed, 30 days later (+ or -) will lay eggs, 60 days later (+ or -) eggs will hatch.
Boas: Ovulate - 17 days later (+ or -) will shed, 105 days later (+ or -) will give birth.
These number will vary from different breeders sites etc, but this gives you a general idea. :)
