Shad, snakes curling up together are not showing how much they like each other, they aren't cuddling, etc. What they are doing is trying to get the same spot all to themselves. Snakes aren't like other pets we have that come from species that are pack or herd oriented. If you look in the wild most snakes do not bother with each other, except for a short time to breed. If their nature is this way, why would it be a good thing to force a solitary creature into contact with it's own kind because we perceive, wrongly, that they enjoy it.
