I went around the tub and used a soldering iron to put a hole every 3 inches, I believe that should be enough. I can double that up if needed.

The gaps under the tub should be fine, it'll just give you a place to put the thermostat probe.
I'll be looking for my forever home in about a year. West Virginia or Pennsylvania is where most of my family is from and the 2 states I'm looking at
So far West Virginia holds the lead, as far as how it's run, firearm laws ect it seem to be a better run state right now.

Yeah that's what mine is, assuming the ambient in the room is mid-upper 70's. If it's cooler you may want a second heat pad set to about 82*F.
