90% is excessive, but no big deal if it is temporary. When I change to fresh, damp coco substrate, it is often this high for a few days. 80% is safe imo. 60-80% is a good healthy range for a ball python. I keep the humidity high and have never had a problem. Just make sure the snake isn't sitting in very wet substrate. You want the substrate and the enclosure to be dry, but the air to be as moist as possible without causing condensation, and water to buildup.

I think dropping humidity below 50% is much more dangerous than having it over 70%. Again, just make sure that the snake isn't sitting in wet substrate. The vast majority of python owners have trouble keeping humidity high enough, unless the inside of your home is very, very humid, it is best to shoot for higher, rather than lower humidity.

SHE TOOK A RAT TODAY !!!!! I’m so stoked !!!! Woot woot I didn’t Ben sent it or anything I did have a mouse ready in the other room just encase she didn’t eat . And her shed is doing much better I think she should have it all off soon . Thanks for all the advise guys !

The hairdryer method WORKS if done properly ...
I wait until evening as they're nocturnal of course then thaw naturally in the snake room , sometimes on a heatmat and sometimes put the rodent/s in a sealed plastic bag and dunk in really warm water ( if I'm short of tirme) . A couple of mine are super sensitive and won't take anything dunked in water - presumably they don't smell mousy enough ?

So then when I'm due to feed , I make sure the viv is unlocked and there's some card on top of the substrate to minimise bark ingestion ... Then I get the mouse/rat by the tail in some tongs and give the rodents head / top half a 10 to 15 second blast with the hairdryer ( hottest setting ) .... then IMMEDIATELY dangle it in front of the snake . They're usually ready and waiting .... Mine all now prefer to strike from inside their hides so I dangle it in front of the entrance for about 15 seconds but no longer as it cools down quickly , if there's a hint of interest such as head movement or tongue flicking then that gives me confidence and I repeat the procedure .... Hot blast and immediately offer ..... repeat as often as it takes ... If there is simply no interest though , either it's going into shed or not hungry ( couple of mine eat every two weeks even though I offer every week just in case

Hey guys so my girl is finally eating her rat pups she’s eaten 3 since the post 1 one feeding and she took 2 the second feeding .

That being said she is still having trouble with that shed . I do t want to give her a bath because you guys said that it’s not the best idea , but I don’t know what else to do.

I added two shed rocks in there and other stuff for her to rub on and I’ve kept her humidity at 65%.
My other female had a perfect shed two days ago and the husbandry is the same ..
I just changed out all of their substrate to the reptichip coconut husk today also.

Back when I had carpet python I had one snake that for some reason always had weird sheds , I would put moss inside her hid and that was basically a humidity shed box . Is there any issue with me doing this with my bp ?
Should I try a bath ?

Any help is appreciated guys

Don’t mind the temps and stuff the thermostat was just adjusting them because the new substrate altered the temps for a little until they evened out .

Have you tried a humidity box? You take some sopping wet towels and put them in a tub and let the snake work some of the stuck shed off themselves.

I think you could stand to up the humidity without any major problems. :)

Have you tried letting the snook run through a damp towel in your hands?
