They definitely are! They flush nicely though, especially the Gamble's around here.

Nice! Have you tried bow hunting elk?

BTW what broadheads do you use? what do you prefer: fixed or expandable? I assume you're on compound right?

And where are you? seems there's a wide variety of game near you! that's so cool!

I was thinking a shotgun. I'd rather not use the decoys, I want the hunt to be as fair as possible, but if they are necessary I don't have a problem with it.

I was wondering some of the same things. Have you ever tried hunting with a long bow? I use one for small game and such.

    I am in Az.
I have use both types of broadheads. However, I prefer slick tricks, muzzy and for big game, bigger than a deer, thunderheads. I do have a few xpandable, and have killed w them, but, I dnt trust the whole moveable part thing, and if it just brushes a branch or whatever in right way, it can xpand...save urself the trouble of thm if U dnt already have them.

Last season I tried the toxics' 125 grain by flying arrow on my easton FMJ 5mm they're great but hard to find, and can really mess up with the meat. On the bright side it almost guaranty a good fast kill.

I use an 80 lb hoyt procomp elite xl with a sureloc icon 550 sight... I know its a target setup but well, spent some serious cents on it and feel great so I use it to hunt too. Had to sell my Bear hunting bow to make this come together LOL!

Thanks for sharing, good hunting and good luck!

Almost forgot that javelina skull is wicked!!! nicely cured. great job.

    Pheasant
I hunt every weekend, or I should say my dogs do. They work as guide dogs for pheasant hunting. Actually they have over 1000 birds shot over them. I love watching a dog work a field. That's the part I love to see
