Without knowing the history of this snake, getting the correct diagnosis first is important.

If you knew for sure you are "only" dealing with RI you could try home remedies. Not knowing what that snake went through, plus possibly being gravid, would make me choose a (good) vet in this case.

Either way, though, hope she gets better soon :)

Ya thats a good point. Idk ill know more in the morning and possibly run everything by a tech who can ask the vet if it would be ok to use the f10 if they cant see her soon. Or maybe they could squeez her in somewhere there's not many vets that kmow snakes in my area so getting in may be hard. But we will know more in the morning.
She haa stopoed lifting her head up tho and has gone into the hide so i think shes starting to relax a bit.

One vet says her condition sounds urgent another one says she would be ok for one more day...the second one has been practicing longer and can get her in tomorrow(tuesday) afternoon so i made the appointment and if she gets worse i will be taking her into urgent care.

Let us know how it goes !!

RI can turn chronic and get nasty, so its a good thing you are having her seen to get this under control. Make sure they do a culture while there.
Some RI's respond well to "wide spectrum" treatment, but some do not. And then you have to go back to get that culture and the whole deal will be dragged out and more stress on both of you. Better to just get it all done while you are there.

Rooting for you and her, let us know how it went :)

Ok so not so good😟 i got medicine and everything but shes got a mess of issues. He didnt do a culture but she has RI , mites and beggining stage of mouth rot. She also has eye caps he believes to be from at least 3 sheds ago. She is going to be getting antibiotic injections, nebulizer treatment as well as warm bath daily until the next shed. She has mite spray for the cage and a mineral oil bath as well to help with mites. She is also very pale in the mouth. He says to give her 1-2 mnths for recovery with a small meal 2 times a week and lowering humiditiy to 20-30%. 😟 so $200 later hopefully she pulls through.
Ill post the pictures of everything he pulled out of her mouth:(
He also said she has a great disposition with everything they did and with what she has going on she is one of the lost well behaved snakes he has seen in a while. So thats good she has a good spirit.

Awwww the poor thing... Id make sure to let who ever that person is know what he sold you.. What a dirt bag if he purposely mislead you. If you were someone that didnt care and he didn't tell you the poor thing would of died. Maybe it was all ment to be.. I hope the antibiotic hits it on the head and the that snake gets a great life with you :gj:

    Oh my...

Good thing you removed the other snake. Now that you know you have disease AND mites (which like to spread it) follow quarantine procedures to a "T".

I know your vet said to feed her small meals and often. But don't be to surprised if she won't eat. Being quite sick, the meds and the daily stress of handling and soaking might make her refuse.
Did he say the daily bath was to treat the mice or the stuck shed ? Or both ?

Best wishes for a quick recovery. Kudos to you for giving her every chance.

    Shame on former owner.
