I clean mine as soon as i notice it. I check several times a day while i am passing their cages.
I use uline kraft paper so i change out the whole piece with each mess. I disinfect eith lysol wipes to spot clean and then do a thorough cleaning with chlorahexadine.

I don't spend time on Facebook, but I've noticed it occasionally on classifides. Passed on a lovely cornsnake once. I wanted that beauty, but it was photographed in a filthy tub. What the heck?
