Was a little hesitant to feed him today since he was in shed (although not deep in shed yet). Gave it a shot anyway..

and I have never in my life seen a snake eat a mouse SO FAST. The first mouse he got by the head and constricted it with a delay.

Second mouse is the fun part! He grabbed it by the head and started swallowing it. Didn't even constrict or anything. A minute didn't even go by and it was GONE. It was really entertaining to watch xD Being in shed must be so tiring!

And here's a little clip of him realigning his jaws:

He's now happily tucked away inside his hide. He's already got that poop butt forming. It's gonna be a huge one when he sheds. :P:rolleyes:

It's my banana Noodles first shed with me and I noticed the same weird neck wrinkles and thought it was weird too. Guess I never noticed it with my other guy [emoji846]

He's looking great! Definitely a little chunker haha but an adorable one.

Thank you! He is an adorable little chunkier isn't he[emoji23] I have a pic of him looking very odd with his neck wrinkles too:

It looks like he has a double chin [emoji23]

    This one's a long one.

So I came home today from college because my mom called the other night to say that Jumbi was already shedding. I was SO confused! I missed the entire process and I thought he was just starting the process [emoji23]

That being said, I wasn't able to raise the humidity early enough, and since this is my first time experiencing the shedding process, it was a bad one. I came home to a huge mess and a huge poop.

Luckily his head shed came off nicely with the eye caps included

So to assist with his shed, I took Bill's advice on the warm wash cloth trick and let him slither around in it. I had to rub it gently and it came off without a problem. This was him before:

And after I peeled the banana:

He looks fresh from the farmer's market!
I also had to do an entire cage clean (it was due anyway). I didn't have enough reptibark to cover the floor, so I decided to cover about 1/3 of the area with sphagnum moss and change it up a bit:

The log will have to go soon. He uses it perfectly fine to thermoregulate, but he's quickly outgrowing it:

A whopping 232g empty! Now he's back in his clean terrarium and napping the night away:

Nothing better than a fresh banana. Next time will be a better shed!

how were u able to get the stuck shed off? we're always interested in methods that work.

also i think he will be fine in that half log for awhile. some BP's don't like the logs, but yours seem like it does. anyway it looks like he could pile 3-4 coils high in there still. even if he's too big, they like it snug. (lol some don't trade out hides until their BP's starting wearing them like "hats")

I didn't soak him, I just got a wash cloth and wet it with warm water and kind of bundled him in it like a pig in a blanket lol. Then after 10 or so minutes being wrapped up in the wash cloth on my lap, I started to gently rub down the stuck shed areas and it came off in large sections. At one point I was holding the shed with my finger and kinda slithered like he was shedding it himself. He was very patient with me and he was really good about it!

As for the log, I meant the long one on the cold side lol. There's an opening in the back on the left side in the pic and it mimics a cave. It's starting to get a little too tight for him so I may have to find a different cold hide area soon. Also, it has an opening on the right side that's like a skinny tunnel and I'm worried I'll find him stuck in there because he's such a fatty now! But yeah, the half log will last him another 8 or so months maybe until he's a yearling! He can still get 3 coils under there[emoji28] I covered the back opening with the vines that are bundled up so its dark in there. He actually kind of looked annoyed with them because he usually likes going through the back entrance [emoji23]

Jumbi was very restless today. I found another poop when I got back to check on his enclosure. That's 1 shed and 2 poops within 3 days, so he was incredibly hungry lol! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...8e5c69903c.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...e3737ef87b.jpg

My brother wanted to feed him the second mouse but he dropped it and Jumbi just looked at the mouse like "wtf do I do with that.." [emoji23]

Anyway! He's 211g very empty when I weighed him today. [emoji16]

I should really pull out my big camera and take some nice pics of him! He's so silly. [emoji13]
