    The favourite response I had when my sister-in-law asked "why a snake?": I'm allergic to cats.

    i work a lot, so low maintenance pets are ideal

    plus the myriad of color and pattern variations is a definite plus

    The snake didn't even say to eat it. He said something along the lines of "you don't die if you eat it. You get the knowledge of god." then eve couldn't be responsible and blamed the snake!
