Does anybody dislike feeding videos?

I've never seen my cats eat mice, but feeding F/T pinkies and the occasional fuzzy to my water dragon was, in comparison to snakes, much messier. Especially since he always shook it, which often resulted in half a pinky flying across the enclosure and nasty little guts everywhere... Not to mention the crunching bones.

Anyway I prefer not to watch live feeding videos just because I don't like watching the prey die (I feed my BP F/T). But I agree with Satomi and Gerardo about people filming their snakes feeding with a disrespectful attitude towards the prey animal, and because so many people make those videos to show off their cool killer pet :/ Snakes are definitely impressive, but I get the feeling most people film feedings for the wrong reasons, if that makes sense?

yep, these are nasty. they grab the rat, shake it, violently slam it against the wall or against the ground repeatedly, let it go, grab it again, slam it into the wall some more, let it go, step on it with one leg, grab it, try to pull it apart.... basically they dont leave a bone unbroken. combine that with live feeding and its really gruesome.

I can handle feeding videos, it's the pre kill videos I can't watch.

I dislike them because they give fuel to the animal rights activists who are using their enormous resources to deny us the right to keep the animals we love. They perpetuate and exacerbate the fear of snakes that so many people have. While irrational, the number of people who fear snakes is far greater than the number of people who love them, and we should always be mindful of that. I'm not saying that it's right, but you'd be amazed at how many people would think those who make or watch such video are sadistic and dangerous. We all have an obligation to protect our right to keep these magnificent creatures and posting such videos is contrary to that cause.

Haha what?! You don't like seeing previously killed rodents being fed to snakes? Or do you mean the killing?

I use cervical dislocation and have killed hundreds of mice/rats this way in a short amount of time. Aside from residual nerve function I assure you they are dead as a door knob immoderately. Legs kick like crazy but that's it. No breathing, no heartbeat, no brain function. Just nerves going nuts.

No no! Haha the how to pre kill a rat/mice videos I cannot watch haha. F/T or pre kill feeding I can watch. Considering I've got 2 snakes, plus fostering 1 who eat live and F/T, that's a good thing haha

There are too many morons out there making those kinds of videos for the wrong reasons. Besides, I'm not sure why I'd want to watch videos of something I watch dozens of times a week in person? I suppose it would be neat to see how the hots and other species do things, but if I want to see that I tend to go more for nat geo type clips since their cameras/slow motion/editing are much higher quality than what the average person has access to.
