2. I'm guessing the last sentence of your post is a typo, but don't edit it. I think it's better the way it is!
3. I said it before in a previous post, but I'll say it again. If I knew when I got Ajja that I would end up dropping nearly $1K on JUST Ajja's cage and environmental control system in the first year... I would absolutely do it again. She's a normal from LLL. $29 at the reptile super show in 2011.

Not quite sure how I managed to quote myself and then add to my post. Odd.

Often times the actual snake (or any animal for that matter) is the "cheapest" part of the equation to buy. It's the proper set up that ends up costing more. So maybe they have $50 for a snake, but not the additional $100-$200 for a thermostat, plus whatever for a tub or tank, substrate, hides, water dish, heat lamps if needed, thermometer... Pets aren't cheap.

Lot's of experienced people don't post pictures of their animals up.
It's great that so many people are willing to help others. That's what being on this forum is all about - Helping others and sharing our love, passion, and experiences.
However, I think when someone says they plan to get their first ball python in the near future and they are also constantly offering advanced advice is odd to me.
And I always think when someone corrects another keeper on, lets say quarantine for example, but doesn't quarantine themselves is ridiculous.

I personally feel that snakes aren't very costly... not cheap, but overall not expensive either.
Their equipment and start-up is the most costly, if you don't get high-end morphs (or so I've noticed), but it's still the least expensive pet I've ever owned, and I've had my fair share I think.
Cat, dog, guinea pigs, fresh water fish up the yin-yang (bred guppies for awhile with my pa), piranhas, and frogs. By far - even considering vet costs, if applicable - snakes win, every time. With fish being the most costly, in my opinion.
HOWEVER cost is always one factor to look at with pets, but not the most important to me.

Lol, me in a nutshell. Knowledge-wise, I'm a database of animal taxonomy, reptile natural history, and other people's experience and I'll regurgitate that wherever I think it helps.:gj:
That being said, the moment the opportunity presents itself, I'll be adding 20 more snakes to two so I can say "Yeah, from my personal experience...." Then I can at least sound like I know what I'm doing. :P
