Some are better than others, such as the honda pure sine wave generators, but most deliver very poor quality power that interferes with proportional thermostats control circuitry.
If you have/are considering purchasing one of these for use with snakes and you use a proportional thermostats a cheap on/off style thermostat such as a hydrofarm should also be on your list of things to buy.
