I called the OPP (provincial police) when it happened, and they were really really mean to me :( The woman even had the nerve to tell me that the other dog was friendly and she didn't think it was a problem at all.................... as I held my chewed up dog and my hands and arms were dripping in his blood. All they would do for me is get me the guys information (which they didn't bother to write legibly). After she handed me the piece of paper, I asked if that was all they were going to do and she said in the nastiest voice "WHAT would you have US do?". I said "I have no idea. I'm not the police officer, it's your job to know what to do." And then they left in a huff. So long story short, they cuddled the other dog.

Thanks for all the support guys.. As I'm sure you can all understand, I love my animals a lot. I'm beyond devastated that he's gotten worse right when I thought he was starting to get better and I could forget about how horrific it all was. :(

You could try calling the police and filing a complaint against the officer. Also you could get in touch with the campground and see if you can get the name of the people who were in that spot.

This thread is sad. I hope shadow pulls through. He such a cutie pie :). As for the police. That is plan unprofessional in my opinion. They aren't allow to judge and declare guilt or no guilt. I'd file a complaint on the officers too. Depending on the department and the area. Complaints usually are heard and taken pretty serious. Good luck to both of you

There was one family that helped me through it and were really nice (since I was there alone), and the man was a recently retired OPP sergeant (or something like that). He was so mad at how they treated me, he said he would make a complaint for me
