I meant to say that a high quality firefly should be 150.

Where are you finding high quality firefly females for 150? I need to find that connection and buy them all...

So, what do you think is a fair price for a female firefly (in case the one I am looking at is a firefly)?

I haven't priced them recently, but depending on quality, I would guess anywhere between $500 and $1000. Someone else might chime in here though. A firefly is a Fire + Pastel. A good quality pastel female will go for $150-250. A good quality fire female will go for $200-350. That's kind of where I'm basing my 500-1k estimate...

So, now I'm a bit confused. If what I'm looking at is just a plain pastel, it is way overpriced, but if it is a firefly, the asking price is reasonable. Is that right? If so, how can I figure out which it is?

If the breeder told you the pairing was pastel x pastel then there is no way it is a firefly. I priced male fireflies at the NARBC in Arlington, TX earlier this year & they were $450-$600, so a female would be considerably higher.

Here are a few good pics of true Super Pastels:

World of Ball Pythons is your friend!

I was looking for a Super Pastel last year to breed with my female Spider and they were going for around $800-$1000 depending on the general quality. Regular Pastels (still beautiful in my eyes) were running around the $150-$200 range.

You need to talk to the breeder again and ask what the pairing was. If the pairing was pastel x pastel, there is ABSOLUTELY no way the snake can be a firefly unless the pairing included the fire gene.

That snake is not a super pastel, just a regular pastel. Although it's a very good pastel, it's not worth more than $200....no matter how many genes you suspect to be at play.

Just as an observation, the way you are asking about prices for all the different morphs makes me uneasy. I'm really not trying to place blame, but I know a small mammal flipper and that's what he does...he buys cheap and sells high (no, I do not condone this behavior and thus is no longer a friend of mine). I guess I just get a little cautious with conversations like this. Just watch what you are saying and how you say it to avoid any confusion.

That looks like a pretty single gene pastel! I have a smoking hot female pastel, and adult male super pastel, and a female firefly. I will post pics of all 3 for you to use for comparisons.

Female pastel. (most recent pic, just a weigh in photo)

Male super pastel at a few hundred grams and now at 900-1000g
