Re: tips for getting g/f comfortable with snakes
I hated snakes, in general, too before I first held one. I didn't want to be in the same room with one. A few years ago, I went to a party and got pretty drunk. The guy who was throwing the party had a baby BP that I was terrified of. After I got really drunk, a group of people were just trying to peer pressure me into holding the little guy. Eventually, I was talked into it and after that moment, I was in love. Finally bought my first BP 3 weeks ago! :D
So, I'd say, get her so drunk that she can be convinced to hold it. :D hahaha

Yea I had the same thing happen with my g/f. She was really uncomfortable at first, and wanted nothing to do with it. I have had my BP for 3 months now and she is slowly starting to appreciate it. She has not held it yet, but she finds the tip of her little tail cute, and she likes to observe her when she's active at night. The way i got the ball rolling (no pun intended) was just to get her to touch her, i don't know why but most people that don't like snakes thinks they're slimy, so that's the first myth i busted lol. But yea like others have said, don't force anything because it wont help.

Plus a good example of a g/f hating snakes and now loves them is Lori, Brian's wife (BHB enterprises)(Snakebytes Tv). She apparently wouldn't even go into the room where Brian had his snakes when they first met. Now they own one, if not the, biggest snake productions in the world. So needless to say she got over her fear and learned to love them.

    Hope this helps

After seeing you safely handle him for a while her own curiosity will lead to her being more open to holding him! My wife was terrified of our snake for at least a month, wouldn't even touch it, now she has him out of his cage more than I do and is excited for me to start a collection! Just give it time my friend!
