Just putting it out there, but there are many illnesses that can lay dormant for months before becoming active that a vet cannot diagnose right away.
That's why QT is so important.
I QT for a minimum of 6 months, some others QT up to a whole year.

Either way, I like your choice in male. I would have suggested a fire. Fireflies are gorgeous little things.
