I've always been an animal fanatic. Snakes, lizards, cats, dogs geckos were always fascinating. I was interested in corn snakes but they were so.... Twiggy? And in one Teacher's classroom I saw two ball pythons crammed into a 40 gallon fish tank. They were pretty chill animals and jut sat there staring or sleeping. I thought how miserable they must be sitting there crammed together. So I went out and did research on these snakes. As I learned about their natural habitat and behavior I was very sad but at the same time fell in love with these awesome creatures. But of course I didn't try to get a snake until recently. I finally manned up and bought all my snake stuff! Now I'm just waiting until Friday to pick up my first actual pet that I know how to care for and paid for with my own money!

I've always thought they were gorgeous. Even normals can be so stunning in colors and patterns. And I had a weird fascination with how they eat. I mean, how frakking cool is it to watch them propel themselves out like that and grab that mouse or rat and curl up in that death hug?! Pretty frakking awesome!! Plus, how sweet and gentle they are is a massive bonus to their appeal.

I've always loved snakes. I have a tendency to be attracted to misunderstood and maligned animals (snakes, sharks, rats, spiders, etc.), and had always wanted a pet snake. So, I did some research for a few months and decided on a Ball Python because of their manageable size, good temperament, low maintenance, and low cost (for some morphs).

I spent a lot of time growing up in my aunt and uncle's tattoo shop. They had a lot of snakes, among other animals. One of my favorite snakes was an 18ft burmese python named Fred, who was in fact a female. When I was a teen working at a pet store I decided I wanted a snake, but a burm was out of the question. So I picked a ball python because of their mellow temperament, looks and size. I have been hooked ever since.
