Eddie, you certainly never heard me calling it soda. Soda is what some people mix with their scotch in my world. Here in Atlanta (unless you're talking to a transplant), there are two options: the formal "soft drinks" for ads and menu boards and such, and "Coke" for every other purpose. As in, "Will you get me a Coke from the fridge?" "Sure, what do you want? Sprite?" I'll bet Judy is right with me on that one. And Judy, I will try to keep that in mind if I ever get over to Europe! I guess it would be silly to ask for cold tea in a place that doesn't even serve cold beer!

I couldn't find them anywhere, even on post, and finally had to have my mother send me a care package with those and decent cornbread mix.
Marla, what did you mean by on post?

Gerbil story
You freaky army man....I'd figured that you would know what that means! :P LOL
I do all my grocery shopping on post, too.

Oh, and Marla...yeah, I'm with ya on the "Coke" thing! I worked at an ice cream for a short while, during those crazy teen years...and sometimes a northerner would come in and ask for a Coke. I would get the strangest looks when I would say "Sure...what kind?" LMAO

Sixx...my husband was a die hard Motley Crue fan. He wanted to name our second son Sixx, i declined. So, my last baby, bp, is Sixx. (he also wanted to name my son Hunter, Bow Hunter....not happening!!)

I always have a hard time thinking of names for animals. My poor dog went days w/o a name. So with the snakes I decided it might help if I had a theme. I decided any boids I get will be named after Lord of the Rings characters and any colubrids would be named after endangered species.
Right now I only have 2 boids - will be getting 2 more this weekend. I only have 1 colubrid - and his name actually has 2 reasons behind it. He's a Mexican Black Kingsnake which is also known as 'the poor man's Indigo snake' because it looks a lot like the Indigo - which is pretty pricey snake. But the Eastern Indigo snake is also an endangered species - which fits my theme. I do plan on getting more colubrids and already have their names picked out.

I was married to an Army man and did a lot of my shopping at Ft. Lewis. Little trips I went to the grocery store right by our apartment, though. In case you're wondering, he was C 1/11 FA.

Absolutely. I had the hardest time wrapping my mind around "pop" -- which to me was dad, granddad, or a noise. It tooks months before I found out what prawns were! I was happy when I figured out what jojos were, though -- I liked 'em enough to name cat after 'em. :)

Aahhhh.....Tigergenesis, I'd wondered about the name Indigo. I'd noticed the LotR theme with the others and knew it didn't fit there. So I'd wondered if you were also going for a "Princess Bride" theme. If you know the character from that movie, Indigo, it might match a Mexican Black Kingsnake as well.

My BP was nameless for the first 6 months or so I had him. Then one day I was looking through my Winamp playlist and came across a song by Einherjer called "Odin Owns Ye All", and I thought Odin would be a perfect name for a pet.
My BCI is still officially nameless, though I am leaning towards "Doc". He has what looks like an old west style goatee cause of the black markings above and below the mouth. Whenever I see him, it makes me think of Doc Holliday in the movie Tombstone. "Barber... proceed sir".
My Bearded Dragon is named "Homer" after the greatest philosopher in history... yup Homer Simpson
